    Hello

I am about to start refilling the pool and whilst checking over the pool I noticed how rusty the fittings are around the lights and hand rails inside the pool tank. Whilst scrubbing the tank with a chlorine solution there was a lot of rusty debris coming out from behind some of the lights and handrail brackets. Some of the lights are also partially filled with old rusty water that will not drain out.

I have raised this with my line manager as I am concerned and think that they should be replaced but I am not sure what the official guidance is, I could not find anything in the PWTAG code of practice. Is there any requirement for these to be replaced or is it safe to use the pool with rusty fittings?

    Thanks
    Ben

Do a risk assessment. Doesn’t sound safe to me by the information you’ve given.
